About Us

Fauquier High School, established in 1963, represents the consolidation of Fauquier County's high school system during a time of significant social change. Before its founding, the county was served by three racially segregated high schools: Marshall High School, known for its basketball prowess; Warrenton High School, celebrated for its football achievements; and Cedar Lee High School, renowned for its baseball talents. Prospective students from these schools collectively chose our school colors—red, white, and gray—and our mascot, the Falcon, symbolizing unity and a new beginning.

Located just outside the town limits of Warrenton, Virginia, Fauquier High School serves grades 9-12, offering a comprehensive curriculum that ranges from introductory courses to Advanced Placement (AP) classes. We also provide extensive vocational education programs in Agriculture, Business, Marketing, Family and Consumer Science, Technology, Trade and Industries, and Fire Science.

Our student body of 1,126 is supported by 108 dedicated faculty members, 68% of whom hold advanced degrees. School hours run from 7:30am to 2:45pm, with office hours extending from 7:00am to 3:30pm. We pride ourselves on a strong tradition of academic and extracurricular excellence, having earned four state titles—two in wrestling, one for our academic team, and one in girls' indoor track.

Our students consistently outperform state and national averages, with SAT scores of 610 in verbal and 580 in math, and an average ACT score of 25.6. Fauquier High School is fully accredited by the Commonwealth of Virginia, reflecting our commitment to providing a high-quality education.

Campus maps are available in the main office, and directions can be found on Google Maps. We invite you to visit and experience the Falcon spirit firsthand.
