PSAT Test Information
PSAT testing will take place on Tuesday, October 29, 2024
What is the PSAT? The PSAT/NMSQT helps students become college-ready by providing detailed feedback on skills, access to scholarships, personalized online tools, and excellent SAT practice. It assesses critical reading, mathematics, and writing skills needed for college and beyond.
PSAT Date at FHS:
- Scheduled for Tuesday, October 29, 2024. This day will follow an adjusted school day schedule. Contact the school for more details.
Who takes the PSAT at FHS?
- All 10th-grade students take the PSAT for free in Fauquier County Public Schools.
- 11th-grade students can also take the PSAT for a small fee ($18.00). 11th graders are eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Competition and must sign up through the Counseling Department.
Score Availability:
- Scores will be available online starting in December.
Accessing Your Score Report:
- Visit studentscores.collegeboard.org/home to check your scores. You will need to login or create an account.
Understanding Your Scores:
- Counselors will explain how PSAT scores relate to SAT scores, and how the score report can aid in SAT preparation, academic improvement, and college and career exploration.
